Wood Cutting and Chip Distribution in Nevada County
Letting Our Community Use What We Don’t
Being a tree trimming company, Flying Squirrel Tree Care has a lot of excess wood lying around. So, what do we do with it? We give it away to those in Grass Valley, Auburn, and the greater Nevada County area that we know will find a use for it!
When we have leftover cut wood or wood chips after a job, we tap into our curated list of local businesses and customers that we know will be happy to take it off of our hands. We deliver that wood to them at no cost or let them pick it up from our wood yard at their own convenience. Then, they use that wood for fuel, mulch, landscaping, and endless other purposes. With our wood distribution and donation system, the wood that comes from your trees and stumps doesn’t just sit in a yard or get burned up – it has a purpose, one that enriches our community.

Why We Donate Our Excess Wood
- For Our Community: Sometimes, even the smallest of contributions can make a big impact. Giving away excess wood may not seem like much, but we’ve been doing it long enough that we know it makes a difference to people. We give them the raw materials they need to fuel their homes and businesses, create new things, and embark on their own projects.
- For the Environment: The more we can get out of one tree, the fewer have to be cut down. When we provide our community with wood cuttings and chips from our jobs, they don’t have to buy them elsewhere or cut down trees on their own. That’s more wood going to the people who need it with fewer environmental consequences!
- For Our Customers: Donating our excess wood means that we don’t have to waste time, space, or money storing or destroying it ourselves. And when we save money, so do our customers. We pass those savings on to you so that you can get your trees cared for at the lowest possible prices.
When it comes to tree services, our Nevada County team goes above and beyond every way we can. To see what we can do for you, call (530) 657-5175 or reach out to us online!
